For those of you who haven’t noticed, Facebook has made some changes to its Event pages. Overall, I really like the changes. The addition of a map to the main page is really helpful to a lot of fans. The aesthetic of the whole page is more streamlined and cleaner. They also changed “Attending” to “Going,” which didn’t seem necessary but I like it.
The biggest change is how much text is in sight initially. When writing your event description, it is now important to include your most attention-grabbing information within the first few lines. Previously, this wasn’t as important because Facebook users tend to scan the page. Now, only a few lines are in sight above the “More” link.
