How do you share your news with fans? If you’re using a press release of any kind, it might be a struggle to figure out how to share this information via Twitter. With so many people using the site, you could be missing a huge amount of your target audience.
Luckily, AllTwitter gives us some dos and do nots for using Twitter for press releases!
- DO explain at the beginning of the tweet that it is a press release so that your followers are not annoyed when the link leads to the release.
- DO share the press release other places online – Twitter is not the final stop.
- DO NOT shorten TOO much. It should be readable.
- DO NOT send out the press release until you have a viable plan in place to measure how many clicks and opens your link gets. There is no point in testing out a new sharing platform if you can’t even tell if it works!
