I’m extremely interested in hearing some opinions on this case–EMI sued company ReDigi, saying that selling “used” digital music is copyright infringement. ReDigi is claiming that resale is fine, but EMI states that there is no guarantee that the original files are being deleted, so how is it not just a free-for-all?

Not only are EMI and ReDigi involved, but Google is concerned about how this case could ultimately impact cloud computing.

The Billboard article can be found here, and there are links to more specifics as well.

What do you think of this? Is selling used digital music as legal as selling used CDs or Vinyl?
