At San Diego Comic-Con this morning, Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson made the announcement that they have picked up a new project–a live-action feature based on “The Amory Wars” by none other than Claudio Sanchez and Evil Ink Comics. Sanchez is, of course, the lead singer of the band Coheed and Cambria. He initially created The Amory Wars as a basis for the band’s multiple studio albums. From there, the project developed into a series of graphic novels.
These novels are sci-fi fantasy, based in a futuristic alternate universe. The setting is run by a tyrannical dictator, and the story is about a family who wants to liberate the population from his rule.
