eMarketer shares the results of a study of companies’ perceived risks on specific social media sites. The top risk sites were Facebook and Twitter, while Pinterest was considered to be the least risky. Do you think this study would have similar results when surveying musicians? We talk about bands as brands consistently, but is it possible the risk factor is lower?
I don’t believe so. Your brand is your brand. While what may CAUSE the risk may be different, the risk of harming brand integrity can still be there. Staying on topic and on voice is important and very easy to get sidetracked from, especially on these social sites.
